Podible is meant to be much more than a “Podcast Discovery Platform” but uncovering this purpose has been a journey in itself. This is because the word “Podcasts” is nothing more than a synonym for “stories.” Stories are nothing more than the most innate expression of ones-self. Being able to provide a means for a creative outlet, whether it be something purely fiction, a story exploring the history of reality, or even just digging into topics someone might find interesting. This has been something that has been passed down since the ancient times of our ancestors and has continued to evolve, going from stories around the campfire, to talk radio, and now podcasts.
After all, a story is nothing more than a means of being able to create an emotional connection between the listener and the author, expanding on our deepest and polarizing emotions or desires like joy, excitement, fear, or anger, and creating that personal connection. The beauty of the podcasting platform, is it allows others to participate in that expression of emotions, allowing listeners to become a community within a vast array of topics.
This journey has lead us to our true mission statement. The music companies, such as Spotify and SoundCloud, are adding podcasts and stories as a feature, not it’s own self-defining community. A podcast is not a feature, it shouldn’t be defined as a box someone checks off, and can feel good about “having podcasts.” It is its own world.
We are dedicated to building an amazing community of story enthusiasts by creating the tools that will allow authors and listeners to forge meaningful, emotional connections. We hope to provide authors a voice to share and live off of their passions, and listeners a direct channel to explore those unadulterated experiences.
